Build a Better Business Series Advises Amelia Island Businesses

The Amelia Island-Fernandina Beach-Yulee Chamber of Commerce continued its popular Build a Better Business series this past Friday, June 28, with a seminar on “Using Social Media to Promote Your Business” presented by Grasshopper Marketing.

AIFBY Chamber President Regina Duncan thinks the social media presentation fits her organization’s vision of the series perfectly. “Most people start a small business because they have in-depth knowledge and a passion for the product or service they provide,” she said. “Build a Better Business is designed to provide our members with useful information in one hour that they can put into action to improve the nuts-and-bolts aspects of operations and increase their bottom lines. Grasshopper helped us show our members how to use the social media tool efficiently, to take full advantage of that passion and attract more customers.”

Grasshopper Marketing’s managing partner Kari Kenner agrees. “We were honored to be a part of this series. The Amelia Island Chamber does an excellent job helping its members learn how to operate efficiently. And knowing how to use social media at a sustainable pace, with prudent use of limited time and resources, is crucial for small businesses to develop good leads and increase revenue and profit. Small businesses have a significant advantage over larger companies. This is passion, and social media and inbound marketing techniques are great at leveraging that.”

All the subjects addressed in the Build a Better Business series were selected in response to feedback from Chamber members. Upcoming topics will include Mobile Marketing, 10-Minute Business Financial Checkup, and Healthcare Reform and Your Insurance.

Individual seminars are offered at 8 am on the fourth Friday of the month through October at the Chamber, 961687 Gateway Blvd., Suite 101G, on Amelia Island. Space is limited to 25 people per session. Admission is free for AIFBY Chamber members and $25 for non-members. Reservations are required and can be made through the Chamber’s online events calendar at http://www.islandchamber.com/Events.aspx.
