Small Businesses: Are you strategic with your online marketing? Or running around like a headless chicken?
Most small businesses are doing the bare minimum when it comes to online marketing. Yes, lots of businesses are signed up with a Twitter account and Facebook page. And yes, there are tons of small business websites out there. But I’d bet very few are really attacking their online presence with a strategic road map in hand.
If you have a website, you really should understand the basics of search engine optimization, keywords, page titles, meta tags, etc. And that’s just for positive organic search results. There’s a whole other world of paid-search results.
If you have a Twitter and/or Facebook account, you can’t just sign up and hope for customers to walk through the door. These tools should be consistently used to continue a conversation with your current and future customers.
The problem is, most small businesses have limited time and personnel to properly manage their online marketing programs. You’re too busy running the rest of your business. I get it, I run a small business too. And that’s why I’m here to help, if you’ll let me.
I started this blog to share marketing tips to small business owners. The business world is tough and getting tougher for small companies to rise above the noise and be seen by the right audience. Fortunately, lots of resources and tools exist to help. Let me act as a filter and I’ll keep you updated on what you need to know about on- and off- line marketing.
